Prizewinning Photography II FAQs
What does the workshop cost?
Tuition for a Prizewinning Photography 2 workshop varies a bit by location and instructor, but is generally in the $400 to $450 range. A non-refundable $100 deposit is required at registration, with the remainder due 6 weeks before the workshop. This tuition covers instructor fees, shoot location entry fees, and any support materials.
Housing and meals are location specific (averaging $300 for housing and $125 for meals). These costs will cover room and board from Sunday night through Saturday morning and include transportation to/from shoot locations throughout the week. Students requiring additional time at the facility will be charged an additional fee, and will need to make special arrangements.
Commuting students are required to pay a facility fee that ranges from $25-$45/day and usually includes lunch and dinner meals. Commuting students may need to provide their own transportation to and from shoot locations.

How long are the workshops?
IPS workshops begin at 8:30 A.M. Monday and end at 6:00 P.M. Friday. These are intensive, week-long workshops, with sessions starting at 8:30 each morning and ending at 9:00 each evening.
Students flying should plan to arrive between 1 P.M. and 6 P.M. on Sunday, and depart after 9:00 A.M. the following Saturday. Airport runs outside of these time frames will be charged an additional airport shuttle fee.
Commuting students should plan to arrive at the classroom location by 8:30 A.M. on Monday.

What are the course prerequisites?
Students must have previously attended a Prizewinning Photography course.
What equipment is required for Prizewinning Photography II?
Each student needs:
- Digital camera (manual control of the aperture and shutter speed!)
- Camera manual
- Shoe mounted flash
- Extra or rechargeable batteries (camera and flash)
- TTL Flash sync cord
- Photographic reflector
- Personal computer (see below...)
- Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom™ 2

What kind of computer is required for Prizewinning Photography II?
Windows computers will be running Lightroom 2 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 8. Students should purchase and install these programs before the workshop. System Requirements:
- Intel Pentium 4, Centrino, Intel Core 2 Duo (or compatible) processor
- Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, or Windows 7
- 1GB RAM
- 5GB+ free disk space
- 1024x768 (XGA) or better display
Macintosh computers will be running Lightroom 2 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 8. Students should purchase and install these programs before the workshop. System Requirements:
- Intel Core Duo or Solo processor
- Mac OS 10.4.11 (or later)
- 1GB RAM
- 5GB+ free disk space
- 1024x768 (XGA) or better display
What about the dress code?
In order to maintain professional decorum, workshop attendees are requested to abide by the following guidelines for the duration of the course.
- Casual, modest-fitting slacks or skirts at least knee-length when sitting.
- Athletic pants or jeans (sorry, no shorts) for afternoon free time and recreation
- Clean-cut polo shirts, button-down shirts, or t-shirts free of obnoxious graphics or writing.
- Comfortable shoes for extended periods of walking.
