2009 Reunion

You're invited to the 2009 IPS Reunion, September 10-12, 2009! Come join us for three days of fun, food, and fabulous fellowship in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Held at the Summit Ministries campus at the base of Pike's Peak, this will be a gathering of photographers that you won't want to miss!

Do you need a TTL Sync Cord?

The goal of the TTL Sync Cord

For years photographers have used sync cords to get more dramatic lighting from their flashes by moving the flashes off the top of the camera and to the side of the person or object being photographed. That's our goal at PWP2.

You might not need a sync cord to do this! In the past couple years, camera manufacturers have started including wireless flash control in cameras and flashes to make it easier to get awesome lighting. Check the equipment lists below to see if you need to purchase a TTL sync cord for this workshop.

Canon

Cameras with Wireless Control: EOS 7d

Master & Slave Flashes: 580EX II, 580EX, 550EX

Slave only Flashes: 430EXII, 430EX, 420EX

If you have one of the cameras and any of the flashes listed above you do not need at TTL Sync Cord. If you have two of the listed flashes and at least one of them falls under the "Master & Slave" category, you don't need a camera with built in wireless.

Nikon

Cameras with Wireless Control: D70, D70s, D80, D90, D200, D300, D300s, D700

Master & Slave Flashes: SB-900, SB-800

Slave only Flashes: SB-600

If you have one of the cameras and any of the flashes listed above you do not need at TTL Sync Cord. If you have two of the listed flashes and at least one of them falls under the "Master & Slave" category, you don't need a camera with built in wireless.

Please email us if you have any further questions!

Portland PWP2 - Day 3

Just when I thought PWP couldn’t get better, it did. We did a photo shoot at Multnomah and Bridal Veil falls! Our group left at 7:30am. Though tired from lack of sleep, we were excited for what awaited us. We spent one hour at each of the falls, having an awesome time! Everyone wanted to stay longer.
