IPS students deliver through rain, wind, snow, and fog. We left the Riverfront Character Inn around 8:00 this morning and headed to Detroit to take pictures at the Conservatory on Belle Isle. Our assignments for the day included using black and white film to capture texture as well as full tonal range. We also practiced using a reflector while shooting a portrait. There were many laughs shared as we all sought out the perfect picture and used each other as subjects for our portraits.

After enjoying our Character Lunches, we headed back through the fog to Flint for the remainder of our classroom instruction. We were once again inspired by our awesome instructors—Will, Katie, and Micah—to dig deeper into the art of photography and develop our own style. The critiquing session was a little rough as we are all still learning, but it was neat to see the progress we had all made since yesterday. Many thanks to our fantastic instructors who explained how to make our images even better and challenged us to brave all odds to capture the moment!
