A week has never gone by so quickly with so many memories made and images captured than this one. As I reflect over the vast number of topics we've studied and places we've been in just seven days time, I stand amazed and utterly blessed! From rainy days to sunny ones, in the middle of a bustling and thriving city to the most beautiful gardens and parks I've ever seen! The Lord has taught me so much about His creation in so many ways! My perspective has changed in how I look at things and it always reflects back to Him!
To wrap up our exciting week here at IPS, we visited The Color Place: the photo lab where all of this week's beautiful and artistic pictures were printed. Mr. Oliver was our tour guide and was very gracious to show us all around the amazing facility in which he works! It was so neat to see just how one of these labs operates. From business cards to billboards, I truly thought this place was (in the words of Peter) "nifty"!
We also had the privilege of getting to hear Mr. House, a photojournalist with the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I was very impressed with the great size of his camera lens! He has been in the business for twenty years, and has many stories to tell in the images he's captured over the years. His monopod also gave testimony of his devotion to his line of work in that it looked very crooked but very well loved. It is amazing to me what kind of an impact a well captured image can have on the viewer; full of emotion and moving.
Our instructors were the best! Ever so patient and willing, they answered every last one of our questions… over and over and over again. I am inspired by each one of them in a unique way and look forward to applying what they so wonderfully taught me here back home. I learned lessons about fear and pride and how the two can devastate a photographer. It's very important to keep God in focus and do all for His glory and not our own, no matter the success.
What a blessing it has been to have been hand picked by my loving Heavenly Father to come to IPS this specific week! I treasure the memories made and captured! I leave with a greater appreciation and knowledge of how cameras work and all that goes with them, and leave also with a new perspective on God's creation and the beauty therein in so many different settings and circumstances.
God bless IPS!
