I'm an IPS instructor because I love people, God, His Gospel, and because I want to spend my life melding these loves. For me, a camera is one of the best excuses to get into someone's life and challenge them to see the world around them from His perspective.
I follow a number of photographers such as Steve McCurry for the way he captures eyes and emotion; Esther Havens for her bold use of lighting and wide-angle lenses; Laura Clawson because of the flare with which she sees the world; Rowan Gillson for his photographic worldview; Rebekah J. Murray for her love of color and motion; and the husband & wife team Bobbi+Mike for their jubilant wedding and portrait work.
I want my photography to reflect Christ honestly. This involves getting to know my clients before a portrait shoot so that I can focus my photos on their unique personality and beauty. At weddings, all my skill and training is honed to capture the holiness and purity of the marriage covenant. I want to know and love God more, and I want to reflect His glory, so I document life, as far as my lens will reach, looking with a Gospel-centered worldview.
